@ akonasadni : wat kind of car do u have? it realy depends,... there's different kinds of headers,... if ur car is 4 cylinders,... there's a 4-2-1 header,... 4-1 header,.... and also depending on the outlet of the headers,...
changing just the exhaust manifold,..... i dont think ur gonna notice any difference in gas mileage,....
mufflerhaus? where is dat at and where u from?

@ riko diko : the Simota is a basic performance SRI,..... it will perform like any other SRI out there,... u will get the HP gain and u will get better gas mileage,....
CAI give's u a more noticeable reation to ur car,.... compared to the SRI (like the one Ranch has install'd to his car)
from Rance's picture,.... his Simota SRI tube looks like its mandrel-bent,... and dats a good thing,... the only thing i would do to it is,... change the air filter to K&N or APEXi air filter,... WAY BETTER air flow,..... so u get alil' bit more HP,... n save bit more gas,...

A piece of comment regarding INTAKES . No matter what kind of AIR FILTERS you have , they all work the same . It all matters on what color it is , the way it looks and most of all who makes them . Mapa Blitz , AEM , APEXi , K & N , Monster or just Simota , they will deliver the same performance you expected to have .... make the engine BREATH easier and HP is not even in the equation yet .

Regarding Cold Air Intake , Short Ram Intake , Drop In intake etc .... the design and purpose existed to compliment on 2 thoings

    - cosmetics
    - function

Cosmetics - to make your engine bay look yummy
FUnction - some engine bau are too cramped so a drop in or short ram is needed but I prefer the CAI because it is YUMMY .

They all work on tandem . Thus the so called I/H/E ... intake , headers and exhaust . HP is very over rated unless you say an average of 5 HP is made when you have your car dynoed is fin with me but why would you dyno a car just to know you mde 5 HP ? Anyways , to make it short and sweet , INTAKES are made to make engines breath easier and better but not as a performance part meant to make real HP .

simplify lng sir... with better air intake wat gud wud that do to my car? mileage on gas?

@cholocoy: cebu lng ko bro... mufflerhaus naa doul ayala bro.

another question mga sir... w/c do u think shud i install first airfilter or headers? sabay cguro but i dont think i want to do it at once... already have a spoon (copy) good sound already as muffler. tnx for the help

@ankonasadni: mas maau tingali kung imo dunganun ang intake, headers and exhaust (freeflow muff) (I,H,E) so you will realy feel the power difference, better responce but noisier lang. . its the basic thing to do when setting up for performance (applicable for most of the local cars). IMO

well regarding on the mileage comsumption of gas with the IHE, if you realy want to rev it til the red line then i guess it wil eat up more gas.. you need to burn more gas to produce more power..

    hope this helps.

If money allows , better yet get the intake , headers and full exhaust or catback exhaust . Consider also what is your goal for your car . Is it for a weekend warrior ( racing on the weekends ) , Performance level car ? Some extra HP is nice to have ?

Just a piece of advice sir , wether gahimo sa muffler nimo is a clone of SPOON , BLITZ , DC , APEXi or just NODALOS , they all perform the same because MUFFLER is nothing but a MUFFLER ... to muffle the sound of the exhaust and secondly COSMETICS . Real perfromance and usable HP will be found in the modification of pipe design of the exhaust . Less corners the better .

Burning more fuel to have better air flow equates to HIGH FUEL MILEAGE than stock .

tnx sir springfield, not for racing...mt aim is to imporve sound and accelaration.. if that helps. getting the airfilter intake is my first choice and yes my spoon copy muffler sounds good, sounds like real thing (tibuok ang tingog) hehehe

Bro when I had full tank last week I haven't fill the gas tank yet but I can't see much dif'rent in the gas consumption.. it added HP because it have more air to burn with the gas but wala pa ko naka bantay nga kusog mo kaon ug gas.. I think it becomes more effecient to burn the fuel.

@ SPRINGFIELD_XD_40 : your right about the intakes,..... and its purpose,... they all preform the same function,..... but there are some that performs better thn others,.... coz of the way the intake tude is design to straighten the airflow,...

lol,... people buy air intake system to gain some HP (make there car perform better,... datz why its call'd performance product or performance upgrade,.... coz its has gain's to the engine)

    stock air intake :
stock intake tude,... air box,.... disposable air filter,.... the auto manufacturer,.... designs ur car to be the quietest possible air intake that can fit in the engine compartment,...
while reduced engine noise has its benefits,... (coming from a stock air intake that has multiple turns and bends,.... in result,... a drop in air volume delivered to the combustion chamber,.....) some or most intake air box are completely confine'd in the engine compartment,.... so the engine sucks in warm/hot air,....

    SRI :
short ram intake solves some of those problems,..... by replacing the stock intake tude with a big/wider tude with less bends,.... w/c leads to higher volume of air,..... in the end,... efficient mixtures that maximize power.

    CAI :
cold air intake is relocated out side of the engine compartment,..... sucking in cooler air,..... Taking in cooler air for combustion means an air mixture that's denser with oxygen molecules for a better burn and ultimately more power.

not all Air Filter performs the same,.....

nice tech comparison.. very informative atlest now we know the brand HKS is not always the best brand to get..

@ Ranch : i dont know bout u but,.... when i install'd my CAI and complete exhaust system,.... i'v noticed a difference,.... its proven that a performance air intake will improve ur gas mileage,... it might be the way u drive,....

from my house to work only,.... 5 days a week,.... i used to put about 25 bucks,. (bone stock,....)
since i got the CAI and the completel exhaust system put in,...... 20 bucks would do it,...

(i dont usualy put my pedal to the metal,..... i drive pretty slow on the streets coz my car is drop'd and i have a complete ground effect hook'd up,... and also some of the roads here is f_ck'd up,.... Â*i dont rev alot,.... i dont double rev when im changing gears,...)

just ordinary driving,..... i saw the dif'rence there,.... but when i do gun it,.... for some reason,.... it does burn gas alil' bit more,... (i think,... lol...)
