^^ I guess your personality doesn't fit the profile of an atheist as someone initially thought.![]()
no, i'm saying that what happened in Haiti is proof that GOD didn't give a rat's ass about the earthquake.
you are taking things out of context. i NEVER said in the first post that GOD doesn't exist (although i'm an atheist, but i'm not implying the absence of GOD in this thread). it was a question as to WHY God ignores this, when in fact, as what the scripture says, he's supposed to be this all-loving, all-knowing GOD. a contradiction of all sorts.I don't know what to make of Pat Robertson's remarks. Anyway, are you arguing that God doesn't exist because of the presence of evil and suffering in the world?
that is a totally different question. when you ask, "Why did God allow all those bad things to happen?", it's just like saying GOD is indeed powerful, which is not asking a question but making a conclusion---which limits the question to suggest that GOD is real. but i ain't a believer bro, that's why i choose to ask, "Why is GOD innocent?"---an open-ended question that cross examines the nature of this Judeo-Christian GOD---whether you're a believer or not.
an unfair stereotype. might as well say, the qualifications for being an atheist are:
- he has to hate the world around him.
- he has to have had a bad relationship with his father.
- he grew up with a nagging mother.
- he was forced to go to church by his parents.
- something unfavorable happened in his life for him to hate GOD.
- he hates GOD.

Oh, so are you saying then bro that you actually believe that God is to blame for the deaths in the earthquake? Are you saying that what happened in Haiti is proof of God's apathy? Aren't you assuming, then, that God exists? If so, doesn't that mean you're actually a theist?
Again, aren't you actually assuming in your statement that God exists?you are taking things out of context. i NEVER said in the first post that GOD doesn't exist (although i'm an atheist, but i'm not implying the absence of GOD in this thread). it was a question as to WHY God ignores this, when in fact, as what the scripture says, he's supposed to be this all-loving, all-knowing GOD. a contradiction of all sorts.
But by asking bro, "Why is God innocent?" aren't you actually assuming that he exists and, as you pointed out, that we can therefore "cross-examine" his nature or character? By asking that question, aren't you in fact presupposing that he exists and that his character (e.g., his goodness) ought to be questioned because he did not prevent natural evils like the earthquake in Haiti?
