This thread is meant to explain the importance of life insurance.
It is unfortunate that if ever somebody comes to us and offer life insurance, we feel that we are about to be "robbed" by the agent. It's only here in the Philippines that most people avoid insurance, in other countries, it is considered a must. The difference? We are not aware of its importance, its value and its function.
For a start, life insurance becomes even more important if one is a breadwinner. Because, if he dies, the family he leaves behind must continue to live, bills will continue to come in, the kids should continue go to school. The function of life insurance is to temporarily finance all these needs immediately after the death of the breadwinner. Otherwise, the family left behind, mostly unprepared for the untimely demise, will fall into financial turmoil and into debthood.
In other words, life insurance protects the people that are financially dependent on you. If your parents, spouse, children or other loved ones would face financial hardship if you died, life insurance should be top on your list. Think about how much you earn each year (and the number of years you plan to remain employed) and purchase a policy that will replace that income in the event of your untimely demise.
Death comes like a thief in the night..we should all be prepared when that time comes...
