Default Gordon : Free E-Book Reader to 17 million Students

He mapped out a plan to fund a $1.7 billion (or P85 billion) project to give 17 million students a Kindle
To fund the Kindle project, Gordon said plans to cut down on corruption, which amounts to about 300 billion pesos.
If this does not work, he plans to improve mining, an industry reportedly worth $1-trillion, to give additional funding for the free e-book reader project.
If both do not work, Gordon said the quickest way to raise funds is through a “text for education” campaign, where P0.50 from every 2 billion text messages will be used to fund teacher’s salaries and the Kindle project.
Gordon's promise: P40,000 salary for teachers | ABS-CBN News Online Beta

    nabasan lang nako.

    for me,

.. ha is he dreaming first thing he should have mentioned is this ...

GUSTO KO MAGTAYO NANG MADAMING ESKWELAHAN ( pardon for the tagalog, nyehehe )

.. not that promise of a 40,000 salary. that's not the major issue in our educational system. The biggest problem we have now is there are too damn too few schools in our country. If there were a lot of schools, then there won't be a NIGHT-HIGHSCHOOL, coz every student will be accomodated. But sadly, that's the hard truth of it all. Only a handful of schools and millions of students. No wonder our younger generation is getting dumber by the year.

"Gusto ko, P40,000 ang suweldo ng teacher kaagad in the next 6 years. (I want to raise teacher's salaries to P40,000 in the next 6 years)," Gordon said.

... are you sure na daghan ta schools Like i said, how come there are night highschool classes kindly answer that question first before you claim that we have a lot of schools.

.. it should be one step at a time, and Gordon should address and prioritize the biggest problem, which is a lack of schools.

bitaw.. dili man pud nato ma ika limod nga kuwang sa ug schools
pero sa ako tan aw sa plan ni gordon abot school teachers kai he wants to keep the good/experienced teachers rather than going abroad para pud nindot ang quality sa studyante ma produce

.. i'm not against that proposed increase of salary, that is a very good move. but one step at a time.

.. salary isnt the main reason why most teachers go out of the country to teach elsewhere. but the unsavory atmosphere inside the school. Who can survive if you teach 60 students per class ?? with no books, no chairs, no proper ventilation ??

.. it should start with the development of the infrastructures, followed by the teachers welfare.

.. funny you mentioned that tocino, nyehehehe.. that is so true, teachers selling stuff inside the classroom.. luoy noh ??

but mas maayo if unhaon jd ang mga facilities... why?

-kng daghan og schools, daghan work opportunity such as teacher, maintenance, etc...

(sad thing)

i doubt if naa pai mang-gawas (considering their pay today) if nindut na ang skuls, dili na kaayu hago sa ilang part, etc...
