akong kuya teacher sa amo...number 1 sya sa ranking (local), 1 year iyang huwat before tagaan sya ug unit, 3 months before sya nakadawat sa iyang first pay. He's telling me na 14K ang basic plus 4K allowance - non-taxable daw ang allowance. Makadawat sya 15-16K kada buwan kay naa paman GSIS, Income TAX, philhealth ug lain lain pa...

.. wow. you can't save when you have a 20k salary ?? that's what you call BAD-BUDGETING. It's all about setting your priorities right. 20k per month is quite substantial if you spend it wisely.


.. back to the topic. teachers right now should be thankful that they are earning on the 15 to 16k mark, before, it was only 8k to 10k. I have two aunts and three cousins who are teachers, not here cebu but in cagayan de oro and davao. They used to earn a mere 10k but thankfully the government increased their minimum wages.


.. but it's hard being a teachers nowadays. so few schools. there might be some private instutions popping up, but still it's hard to land on a good school. But as they say, it's better to work on the public schools than private ( well, in terms of salary )
