Flawed and without evidence? do you even read the bible? do you believe that the bible is GOD'S WORD? THE WORD OF GOD, are you familiar with that phrase? If not, then i can understand your hesitation to take the Bible's words as law. I can then understand why you question Sola Scriptura... I can understand why you would prefer tradition over scripture, and the laws of men over the laws of GOD.

Here is my question to you then: If your Pope tells you to do something which contradicts bible scripture, would you do it?

why would the POPE will do that in the first place, as head of the roman catholic church and of course together with the cardinals their interpretation of the bible is accepted as the true meaning before the members of that church. So there is no contradiction of what so ever unless you have your own interpretation of the bible ergo you have a different church or religion.

Fortunately, in our modern times, I guess the pope hadn't issued statement that contradicts the Bible scriptures ..................

Traditions over scriptures?!Â* If these were the mandate of the people's lives for their salvation why did the Bible still exists?Â* These are God's Laws and nobody has the right to question its authenticity.Â* We have our own beliefs, interpretations, and learnings but as CAtholics we are to abide with our laws.. faith is our salvation then, so to speak. Our lives are not about mere laws and scriptures but it goes with what we do towards mankind..

mosimos must be a very great guy to accused somebody as great as martin luther of having too much pride.
Well, Martin Luther wasn't really great, in MY opinion. He was quite possibly half-insane, extremely prejudiced, and a very dishonest man. If you read up on him, check on his opinion of the Jews, his flip-flops on doctrine, and his marriage.

    God bless!

The answer to that, my friend, is FAITH. Religion and other forms of beliefs require a whole lot of faith to keep it strong. Take the story of Noah for example. The whole world was flooded, and everyone was left dead, however, the ark managed to fit in several species of animals together, without collapsing, and with the whole boat floating for 40 days and 40 nights! The Christians then try to defend it with the most absurd explanations ... for me, it fails all forms of logical reasoning and science, and so do other several million thing in the Bible

That's why it all comes down to faith, and trust.

As Paul said to the Philippians. "Work out your salvation, with fear and trembling."

Kung naluwas ka na, ngano moigon pa man si Paul ani.Â*

It says work out NOT work for..... if you look at followng verse, namely verse 13 of chapter 2 you'll say Paul writes for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose And in chapter one.... check the sixth verse, when Paul says something like and He who continued the good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus...

You can see how important it is to understand CONTEXT. Paul is saying that good works are our calling but we cannot work on our own and be righteous on our own. 1

In other words, our deeds don't score plus points as if our salvation depended on them... 2 but because of salvation good works IS our calling. 3

We really need to understand that though salvation is NOT reliant on works per se, it IS our calling and apathy and sloth is the enemy of our calling as well.....

But because Scripture contains information for us to do every good work 4, and actions we must be active in avoiding.... or actions we must be active in pursuing, consequently those things along with our belief CAN allow us to profess whether we are in a state of salvation or not.. We may know if we have eternal life or not. 5

    ------------------------
    Foototes:

    1. Philippians 1: 6
    2. Ephesians 2: 8 - 9
    3. Ephesians 2: 10
    4. 2 Tim. 3: 17 (TEV)
    5.Â* Â*1 John 5: 13

In an equation, Grace + Faith = Salvation
Salvation + Faith = Good Works

    but

Salvation + Faithlessness and Apathy = Dead Faith, Nullified Salvation
