just cut the crap mosimos. i'm trying to be serious here. how dare you imply that i'm doin a mistake in not having my future kid baptise? i want my kids not brainwashed or exposed to a religion before they can think for themselves. i don't want my kids to have a conditioned mind. i want them to know for themselves what is right and what is wrong outside ur church's definition of what is right and wrong. don't give me those things you got from the bible coz it doesn't affect me at all for I DO NOT believe in your bible.

before this, i was seriously thinkin of re-evaluating my faith. and i might try this whole roman catholic thingy. and out of respect to the mother of my future kids, for most likely she will be a catholic. thus my inquiries about catechumen.

now i think it's a bad idea for i don't want to worship next to holier than thou, self righteous people.

IMHO, people like you is everything that is wrong in your church.

That's not the recommended way. Christianity is a religion with a message that is supposed to be spread. So Catholics have an obligation to let their children hear the messahe of the Gospel. By baptizing them, they receive spritual benefits such as removing the "stain" of original sin.

IN any case, a baptized child does NOT lose the freedom to choose a religion. When they grow up, they can always choose, just like so many people do. Also, by NOT baptizing a child, you already make a choice for him anyways. So might as well let him hear the message of Christ.

Catechumens ar ethose being prepared for baptism. Usually it is for adults. More on catechumens at the URL below:

    http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/03430b.htm

I would recommend having the child baptized and then when he is old enough, he will choose his religion. That happens whether we like it or not. But at least he will have heard the Christian message and have had a chance to experience it. Of coure, the parents must try to ractice the Faith.

    God bless!
