there are lots of drawbacks using a thermal paste.

    1.) poor heat transfer
    2.) poor heat transfer
    3.) poor heat transfer
4.) and did i say that it has poor heat transfer?
    5.) dries up and solidifies
6.) lasts about a year or less

I recommend you use Artic Silver 5 or Artic Cermaique

www.google.com is your friend on that
avg cost here in cebu for AS5 is about Php 500 MAX

Theres a whole new world of difference on the performance, gamay ra tingali if mo solti ko ug 5~15c, also you can have an application of those for just P50 some computer shops offer it at that price per application on the videocard / CPU.
Its pricy i know for 1 tube of silver compound, but i recommend you google about it.

Thanks for the info guys, it's a good discussion. However in my point of view I don't have to spend P500 Thermal Compound for a dirt cheap processor like Sempron 2500 (maybe this would be different if I had a Pentium D or Athlon processor), another factor is these processors are alot cooler in stock (or even overclocked). If I had to spend around P500 then I might buy a new HSF instead which is what I'm planning to do next. 38~45c is definitely a good temp for me and quite a reasonable expense.
