Default Traditional and Digital animation lessons anyone?

Hi,I just want to inform all would-be animators or anyone who would like to have a career in animation that: The Animation Council of the Philippines, Inc. (ACPI), in cooperation with TESDA and the Quezon City government is now accepting applications for enrollment in Traditional (2D) and Digital (3D) Animation Courses. BUT,Its only offered in Quezon City. And in some other regions still being worked out like;Dumaguete,Naga,GenSan and Zamboanga. http://www.animationcouncil.org/acpi_events_koica.php

Why not Cebu?Good question.I've made contact with ma'am Ludet and ma'am Joy over at ACPI and they told me that they did try and penetrate Cebu. But,with much luck, didn't got approved.

Now,what needs to be done to have these courses approved is to have the local DTI-BOI people here in Cebu coordinate with the Animation Council.OR recommend a school or company to coordinate with Animation Council.

If anyone out there can do something about this.Just PM me or e-mail info@animationcouncil.org

Well,it's just an organization made up of Filipino animators and companies based in the philippines. Most of these companies have produced animation for Disney,Hanna-Barbera,Toei,Pixar, and also for europe...

But then again. For those of you who would like to break into the animation field. You would first need to learn the basics.2D is somewhat (old Disney,Looney Tunes,Anime',Etc..),while 3D (Finding Nemo,Final Fantasy,Etc..).Companies would either hire someone with either experience or someone who took a course in the animation field.Animation is not a very glamorous job by the way.Well, you sit around all day infront of a pc or at your studio chasing the deadline!I dont know about the pay. But,If animation is for you.I hope someone out there can help!!..

Ansley, check your yahoo account. I sent you an email. Let's see what we can do about this. Are you interested if we can put up a chapter here in Cebu to closely coordinate with the Manila chapters (main chapter)?

Pls do email me. Check your bozukka@yahoo.com account. Thanks.

Sayang dyud. Look how cheap the courses are.

    Professional Assistant Animator Training
    Course Fee: P12,000.00
    Duration : 6 Months

    Professional 3D Maya Animation Training
    Course Fee: P25,000.00
    Duration : 6 Months

    Professional Game Design Training
    Course Fee: P25,000.00

Pero I believe one should have above-average skills in static sketching/drawing before one should tackle animation. The only aspect of animation I'm interested in is not the animation per se but giving characters life through gesture drawing and how to fake "physics" so that I can draw believable static
    drawings.
