    Default c'est la vie

nobody wants to shoot a picture of somebody's back or butt, but the sheer number of participants last sunday just made finding a nice angle a wee bit harder.

a guy backed into me while he was taking a shot. no biggie....he apologized. I smiled and flashed him a "PEACE" sign. It may have ruined my shot but it's not the end of the world. I can always recompose. We, as photographers, should be used to things like these by now. It's the hazards of the trade. True enough, a few hours later, it was my turn to step on another guy's foot as I was edging sideways to get a clear shot. Although he didn't flash me a "PEACE" sign,he did smile and nodded his head. I guess that was also his way of saying: "No harm done."

    True camaraderie on display.

You mean by Sinulog 2011, pasayawon ni EX mayor ang photographers.. sige lang. makig kape lang sad ko sa next mayor and ask him/her not to have the photogs dance. dali rana, kape raman diay..

I mainly use a 50mm prime on the street. I have to be 2 to 3 meters away from the queen to capture a decent portrait. It takes a little bit of patience and waiting for the other photogs to clear away from the queen before I get a decent view of the queen. I switched to kit lens when the rain came because it was the only lens I managed to wrap in plastic and willing to risk, but then I always shoot at the 50 to 55mm end of the kit lens.

Would you like to start the thread you mentioned? That would be better than this current thread which is going nowhere.

Like Sinulog t-shirts, large, xlarge, xxlarge, xxxlarge, xxxxlarge but nowhere going medium to small. Or like lens, wide to ultra wide, zoom to ultra zoom or tele to hubble tele - but never standard/prime 50mm

    For something constructive:

Why don't someone start a thread: Suggestions to improve photography during Sinulog 2011. Keep it going and peg the thread until January 2011. After some comments and opinions awhile back (before Sinulog), a moderator in a way said to keep my mouth shut ... 'cause the Sinulog foundation members are reading istorya's photography column.
LoL. I was down taking a shot of the queen and when I stood back up, I banged my head on someone else lens. We both apologized. I feel sorry for some photographers who expected things to be easier. They obviously didn't know Sinulog up close and personal. Try joining the Solemn procession (Saturday). They call that solemn but when you're there, its almost close to a bloody stampede.

What if kaha noh, dili lang kay pisi ang gamiton ug cordon sa route kundi kana gyud portable steel gates, like this http://www.discountcrowdcontrol.com/.../T/P111-01.jpg
    http://www.traderscity.com/board/use...ce-panel-1.jpg
    http://www.made-in-china.com/image/2...ence-YM-T-.jpg

Basin mas effective ni siya kaysa kanang pisi lang. Although gasto sad gyud nuon ni siya, pero mas lisod gyud i-lusot ani. Nya naa lang kay designated crossing areas.

if whining is just an excuse to point fingers that will up to the person if he feels guilty or not to what was written in the few pages. since it was my first time to join. Now I know how it is done. Next year will be another preparation for me. Simple ra man ta ba, Human mo take ug pictures..padaplon. If You have your subject, click the shutter then padaplin. Hinuon sab contest man sab gud. Sometimes sa ingon aniinga sitwasyon people tend to forget how to give way for others.
