It does not explain WHY we are forced to register with COMELEC when we only want a barangay clearance. What has COMELEC to do with the clearance? This is all fishy... Where is written that the requirement is a Voters ID? I only know that the requirements are valid ID's.

Well I have to agree that having ourselves to register in COMELEC just to get a Barangay Clearance is indeed bothersome. I see no relevance of a Voter's ID to a Barangay Clearance. But again, that's a rule for some Barangays and we can't do anything about it. Rules are there to be implemented, let it be ridiculous or stupid. If you have a complaint about it, talk to the ones who implemented it. I'm referring to the Barangay Council anyways since they are the guys who mostly agree on it.

Just for the clarification of everyone, Voter's ID, whether naa or wala, as long as registered ka sa COMELEC, you are eligible to get a Barangay Clearance. All you need is that little claim stub that is given to you after you register in COMELEC.

We are not forced to vote but as a citizen of this country, it is our duty to vote. And to vote wisely. Election is the only time that we can choose who will govern our country. Whether we like it or not, the government is one of the factors that affects the development of our country. That being said, it is our duty to register ourselves to COMELEC, since we cannot vote if we are not registered.

But for the no voter's ID = no barangay clearance is plainly ridiculous. Considering how the country's government work nowadays.

ridiculous indeed! IMO, this is an act of treating the people of the country dumb. Look at other country's ideals, they have improved system, improvised structures, wiser budget..... here in the PHILIPPINES -> cannot even make people's identityy/registration / human resource to work properly? WTF our government is plainly shallow and doesn't improve.

Maybe they just felt making a "rule" to act as though they're actually doing "something"?

Maybe those people who created this stupid rule to require people to register with COMELEC just to get a brgy. clearance would be better off just sitting and not doing anything (e.g. creating/agreeing to stupid rules).

There's even no point in arguing with the people who agreed to this. Our country is just hopeless.
