Question Asking for your Valuable opinions! Thanks in Advance :)

I don't know If this is the right section to post this but if not please remove and accept my sincere apology.

Hi, I've been a graduate of Diploma in Computer Electronics and had been using my knowledge in computers until now. But I honestly, I haven't experience being really happy on my achievements. I really don't know why but I always end up unhappy even on my last job as a Online Virtual Assistant. Applying on a Call Center is what I dream of but I always getting failed on every interview for almost 3 years. hehehe... Imagine? 3 years? That's how eager I am to work on a call center.

Now, after resigning on my last job I'm applying again on call center. I been thinking, if ever I can't be hired as an agent I'm planning to apply on some hotels in Cebu and if god permits I'll work while studying on a culinary arts school so that I be a chef. Cooking is one of my hobbies and making people happy on the food that I'd prepared is fulfilling for me. Happiness and contentment is what I really felt when someone is enjoying the dishes that I'd prepared.

I really want your advices mga Istoryans. I know that there's no right or wrong as long as we are happy on what we are doing but sometimes we need someone who will give you ideas on what should be done to be able to succeed. What do you think? Is this a good idea? What should I do to succeed if I really pursue being a chef? or just stick on being a call center?

Please help me and Thanks in advance... I really appreciate all of your opinions. Hope things work well on everyone of us...

So bottomline is ur eyeing on two positions, chef vs call agent?

for starters, u have to think of the skills that u have now which is more related with computers, aite? so it's ideal that you have to look for jobs in line wid ur credentials whereas culinary arts, ur still starting pa naman john so prolly once u have basic skills in cooking, u can shift to another career so for the meantime, prioritize what u can offer to the table -- stick wid the field of computers..

hope u won't feel bad about this,k? take this as a constructive criticism.. u mentioned that u applied for a call agent position for 3 yrs aite? hmmm... basing from the post uv written, u need to enhance more on ur writing skills using the English medium, maybe that got in the way with ur written entrance application exams... how about ur oral skills? do u fumble on words? have u committed a lot of grammatical errors? coz call center companies are very keen on how u are at ease and how articulate u are with the English medium... so how about a refresher course in English? mebe leaf thru ur old English grammar books and learn from them... practice speaking English wid ur friends or read out loud any mags or books u can get hold of...

basta lang john, know what u really want coz ur work ethics would really reflect as to how much heart you put into the job

Good luck and have a happy 2010

Ey john beyee is right stick with what you have learned in school. A graduate of Diploma in Computer Electronics better apply in IT companies like NEC for instance, and if you wnat to get hired in a call center learn to be confident not to the extent of being boastful. Ako gihimo before cge tan.aw HBO,Star movies, Cinemax then ako na pang sundon hehehe mao na at early age nadawat ko sa call center.

Hi bloodyrose... ehehehe... I have done that but still have that shyness... heheheh... in english, the interviewers always said that I need to improve my sentence construction.... so read more of my books and reviewers on english... the big problem is boosting my confidence level kai d jud dali nga ma boost-up... hehehe... when I'm on front of the interviewer, I tend to shaken a bit then get rattled... hehehe... damn... d man na tuyoon but mokalit raman gud... heehehhe... I need something para mobaga ug maau ako nawong.... hahaha... kanang d na jud ko maulaw bisag kinsa... hahahaa.... unsaon kaha na noh?

what I could only advice is follow what you desire. if you will pursue to work as an agent, then go. there are free trainings being offered as an agent and don't lose hope that someday you will be able to find a stable work. you said that you love cooking? go ahead and go to a culinary school. make sure you do things little by little. coz the thing is you can't do both things at the same time, get what i mean? follow what your heart tells you. rejections may come but it will not be forever. think of ways on how to improve your weaknesses. i know it's easy to say but if you have the determination, i know you will still succeed. you can do it!
