That guy sure has his way of attacking others.
Whether we like it or not, this thread will most likely remain open. I think it is due to the subject matter or the concept of banning anime.

@sharkey360: uhmm u have a link for or other sources about his letter to sunstar.. i thought his letter was published.. i just wanna read it..
Unfortunately there is no link available, and I no longer have a copy of the paper.
If memory serves me correctly, it has to be the April 22, 2009 edition of Sun.Star.
The letter caught my attention not because of his name but because of the tone...the strict and critical Catholic mindset.
ahh... im really curious wat he wrote there... and did sunstar published their reply right?
para nako... mag pa BANNED cya ug anime?
Sos... !! Cya palang mismo, anime na kaayo ug nawong...
Mura gyud cya ug nawong ni LEE sa NARUTO.... mao cguro dli na cya gnahan ug anime... hehehe
It goes like this - he wrote his opinion about that controversial bikini open that happened in Bantayan Island last Holy Week. The organizers and sexy stars were sued. Betonio supported the moves and went on to attack those who were charged. By examining the narrative of his letter, as I mention before, his words reflect a strict and critical Catholic/Christian reaction. Betonio even claimed that people don't read the bible anymore or spend time in church. The religious overtones are clear.
As for reactions, someone actually replied. A certain Ritchie D. Nolasco (who is also a member in these forums...clue - she supports showbiz over education) reacted. I believe that letter was in the April 25 or 26 Sun.Star.
By analyzing Betonio's reactions on this particular thread, religion is often present in his arguments.
This is more of religious fanaticism, even bordering on extremism. He even proclaimed in one thread that he desires "death to all non-Christian believers" when amnesty for the Abu Sayyaf was being discussed. Asa ka ana?
Betonio is just one more example of those that are too blinded and think they understand everything about how faith should work. As a result, their views are quite narrow and close.
While I do agree that anime has some immoral overtones there are some that do have moral lessons. Let us look at Samurai Champloo for example. It has a message of friendship forged through tough experiences, even though Fuu, Jin and Mugen were three different strangers brought together by an unfortunate event. Perhaps other would argue that Samurai Champloo is just too violent, which is true but, as a writer myself, I appreciate the plot and believe the violence there is just an expression of reality and a necessary tool to push the story along.
Da, karon pa jud ko nakareply nga banned na siya. tsk tsk.
Anime should not be banned just because someone has extreme religious beliefs.
Besides, it won't be a Samurai-themed anime if the writer/artist did not portray the characters/plot/etc how it is defined in reality, diba?
Or else, it would be plain shi-.
I did a little scan up on Betonio's friendster account. Nagwonder kong ngano naa sa iyang favorite shows ang mga anime nga iyang gisaway? Like I said sa akong first reaction ani nga thread, he may be a victim of cyber-bullying.
Kinsa may sane enough nga musaway ani nga sub-forum and mu-post sa iyang picture? Is he trying to intimidate us? Well he did succeed... but he failed big time.
His views are so one-sided, he ended up getting banned. Interesado na unta ko sa mga debate nga possibleng mabuhat. Dili lang siya katubag sa mga "valid" nga stand sa mga istoryans. Ang iyang mga tubagon kay ang mga bugal2x nga post.
