some say eliminating shadows but in my experience not really eliminating it but minimizing it to point that the all the shadows almost not visible to our naked eyes. therefore, a little adjustment with curves then tadaaaaa! no more shadows!

surely there's a distinction. they have different perspective plus i made some adjustment with curves to completely remove the circular luminance.

i'll post later a shot very similar to this image with ring luminance chiseled into the eyes.

there's a ring light & there's also a ring flash. two different things but their name is used interchangeably. just want to point that out.
