Gigantic? The A380 is larger than this.

Around 200 to 300 apparently. It's not great because of its size, but rather for being eco-friendly and fuel efficient.

That and the fact that it's made of composite materials which are usually used in rockets (e.g. propellant chambers, fins, etc.). The materials used on the plane are also lighter than aluminum and titanium.

Boeing promises passengers "a better flying experience" that includes bigger windows, more luggage space and better lighting. It promises airline operators greater efficiency by burning 20 percent less fuel than current models of comparable size and by providing as much as 45 percent more space for cargo.

So far, 55 customers have ordered 840 of the planes. The official price of one is $150 million.
This is the best part of the news.. hehe

The prototype is supposedly overweight. Perhaps the composite components didn't come in as light as Boeing originally thought. Unwanted weight means less performance and higher fuel burn. This means that unless Boeing engineers put the aircraft on a strict diet it may not meet performance guarantees.

Of course aircraft gaining weight between the design and production stages is not unheard of.
