Looks like I missed a post.

Silverstone != HEC. Although the two are the same power supplies agreed that HEC is not a generic PSU, they still do not have the same parts and in fact Silverstone has better parts than HEC. HEC is good if you're low on budget but HEC does not compete with Silverstone in any way.

sakto si personalmgt i dont even think HEC is branded. more or less kung sa cellphone pa class A tunga2x sa branded ug sa mga baratuhon na generic, or in other words improved na generic.

@limes: Sayop jud mo bro well its your opinion but to tell you frankly HEC is and OEM manufacturer of most PSU's in the world and they have a broad wide experience of manufacturing best PSU's so then why HEC is cheaper than silverstone? because they manufacture their own PSU's. HEC is not even GENERIC think about that! they even manufacture Silverstone PSU's as well.

a lot of PSU options to choose from. As always im going for a reasonably priced components.

Silverstone's 1000 watts power supply cost around 15-16k

Corsair Modular nga 1000w only at 7.1k
    Same range as HEC cougars.

I dont think there would be a huge impact in choosing corsair, hec or silverstone. Except for the price and braging rights.
But If I have money to waste why not choose silverstone its sooo expensive and I can brag it.

HEC has generic and high end products.

Would my 550VA voltage regulator able to handle my 750 watts PSU? Or it does not matter?

    restating dongzkie's statement,
Since watts is volts times amps, what is VA? VA (or volt-amps) is also volts times amps, the concept however has been extended to AC power.
ang 550VA niya nga AVR kay naa ray 330W safety net capacity - any load, including inductive loads..
and yes, it would be 550W kung DC..

    Finding the Power Factor

How do you find the power factor? This isn’t easy. For computer power supplies and other supplies that are power factor corrected the power factor is usually over 90%. For high power motors under heavy load the power factor can be as low as 35%.

Industry standard rule-of-thumb is that you plan for a power factor of 60%, which somebody came up with as a kind of average power factor.
    550VA * .6 = 330W

the same rule applies to my emerson itON UPS having a 600VA and a 360W capacity.

    correction ani kay nabali,

thats 550VA for AC and 330W for DC..(in relation to 1st post)

    thats 550VA * .6 = 330W
