Punk isn't all about music.. The Punk ideals (No Government/Anarchy in general) isn't something that we actually need right now. If they say PUNK IS DEAD.. I say "I HOPE SO".

i think that punk will never die because of its simplicity, all you need is three chords and an attitude. thats why most high school bands start out by doing punk(or something close to punk like grunge or emo).

i think the punk that most people know (pop punk, mislabeled emo bands) will die a natural death within the next half of this year... but the PUNK UNDERGROUND that punk die-hards have always supported (not the pop punk stuff you hear on the radio), will continue to progress and evolve, as it has always done for the past 30 or so years... Although i admit i listen to some of these so-called "trendy" punk bands (e.g. Ataris, Jimmy Eat World, The Used...), PUnk has always been about non-conformity, radical action and attitude... its TRUE, this kids dont play just for fun! they write music with an AGAINST & ANTI-ANTI message embed in every song they write. This kids fight for justice and equality to save the poor and the oppresd. ang gnhan pud nako ani nila kay direct to the point ilang mga songs, very straightforwrad and sincere.
