I saw a commercial on ABC, naa na daw Philippine Idol.

ABC 5, the number three broadcasting channel, which previously experimented with a beauty queen reality search show, may not have anything to match ABS-CBN's and GMA-7's gold mines for now. But it is not idly watching the competition between the two.

The network is finalizing the contract for the franchise of "American Idol." ABC 5 executives are still mum about the details, but insiders say it is set to air "Philippine Idol" early next year. Its main come-on is the winner's shot at the "World Idol," where he or she will be competing with winners from other countries.

An ABC network executive told Newsbreak, "Our main edge will be the production value of the show. This group has the big budget for it."

I just hope it'll better than the talent search shows on GMA and ABSCBN (Starstruck, Star in a Million, etc.)

Saw the news and looks like Ryan Agoncillo will be the local-Ryan Seacrest of the show. It should somehow boost ABC-5's ratings.

YES! Finally naa na sa Philippines! Im diffinitely buying Pinoy Idol's CD's. I hope dili ni siya lutong "makaw" ang result like what they had in Pinoy Pop Superstar and Star in a Million singing contests. I hope the same ang format sa American Idol that the audience pick the idol.
