@jugs: Diri usahay chilly usahay warm. Dili pa gyud warm kaayo. Looking forward to that. Uli ug Cebu? Hulat nalang ko maabot akong greencard. 30-120 days nalang daw, fingerprinting ko this week. Hasula ani lagi, may ta tong immigrant automatic, hahay saon. Gawas kos akong lungga. Maoy pait aning home ika mommy uy, laay kaayo. Tanang taw diris amo way laing hibal-an buhaton trabaho. Inig weekend akoy manghagad ug laag sila gipangkapoi, gusto puyo ug balay para mopahuway. Ako sad, gapuyo sa balay all week gusto sad mogawas inig ka weekend. Saonz.

Kaw diha? Musta man ka? How's school and work? Ga boycott baya ang hispanic community sa? What do you think about it? Grabe sad kaayo sila uy, hasta gani anthem gitranslate ug spanish. I mean, yeah we know they're very united, that's one thing we filipinos don't have, pero dili lang sad palabi kay dili raman sila ra ang namuyo di ba? People differ in their views about this, pero para naku, sobra ra sad sila. Did you know they DON'T want to learn to speak english? They literally refuse to learn the language. Salig sila kay anha raman sad sila trabaho within their community. To think, unsa gyud ka diverse ang races sa mga naa sa US pero they try to speak english man. And I think, that's because they can survive even without having to speak english. Why not? Wherever you go, restaurants, even labels sa mga product packages kay naay spanish translation.

I agree that they have to be recognized for their efforts in helping the US economy.......butÂ* legalizing illegal or undocumented immigrants, then, that I don't agree. Unsa na man lang tong nangaply tawon ug tinarong o Diniyos nga dugay na kaayo nga wa pa ma-approve? unfair kaayo na sa ilaha..... it will encourage people to do the short-cut, just to come to America. And again, I agree that they need to learn and speak English, not the other way around....and it's not true(or still subject to debate) that Americans don't want blue-collar jobs...there are so many jobless americans who are willing to work on those type of jobs....the thing is, kaning giingon nila nga di ganahan ang mga americans ana nga klase nga trabaho, palakaw ra na sa mga employers nga nangyawat makaginansiya ug samot.....kung illegal immigrants man gud imong i-employ, di ka mobayad ug buhis...wa kay bayrang medical and retirement benefits, so that's around $2-4/hr less. I've been to some trailer parks in east and west coast side of the US ug mau nay reklamo sa mga unemployed americans.....

    **********
one more thing, I was so amazed WHY the Filipinos cannot find their place(or identity) here in the US...... Imagine, in 2015, the Filipinos will overtake the Chinese as the highest Asian Immigrants in the US...pero look around you, pag kakita kag Filipino restaurant, sulod...diba ang mga nangaon Pinoy ra gihapon.... Adto ug Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese or Thai restaurants, di ba at least 50% nga nangaon puti or itom....which means, Filipino restaurant business is just surviving kay limited ra ang patrons, so gamay ra compared sa Thai, which is just a very little fraction of the filipino population...so ulaw kaayo paminawon, daghan kaayo ta, gamay ra kaayong Filipino restaurants, mahal pa gyud.....NGANO MAN?
I don't think it's the food, kay we have a unique style compared to the hispanic foods, the same way as the thai compared with the japanese food.

I think it's the ambience or the interior decoration....kita man gud, naanad man tag carenderia style, mau nang kasagaran sad sa mga filipino restaurants sa US mora sag porma ug carenderia... inato ra kaayo ba, ang mga bongbong, baratuhon ra nga wallpaper gigamit, dayon dekorasyonan ug duha, or tulo ka lanterns or star sa pasko, dayon naay Filipino calendar..nya naay 20-inch TV nga naay Filipino channel, ayos na......unya with the price of the food...wa gyuy ganahan mokaon nga dili pinoy...

I just hope maka-realize na ani atong mga negosyanting pinoy sa US...Â*

@amaw: Reklamo sa ako husband with filipino food is too much PORK. Grabe kaayo maglutaw gani atong adobo sa mantika. Lami tuod kuno pero patyon sad imo lawas. Ambot sad ning atong mga paboritong dishes uy, mantikaon man gyud kaayo. And another thing, he is diabetic and manamis tamis man gyud atong lasa. Pero once in a blue moon ra gyud. He even discourages me to cook adobo or humba pero nah... palapos pikas dunggan uy. Tehehe.

I agree, Filipino foods are too much in cholesterol. We cook and eat more on meat than veggies. If we compare our food w/ other asians, ours is very unhealthy. I agree w/ u "amaw" about not seeing much on filipino restaurants in the US and why there's not much other race eat in our place. True, the filipino restaurants are boring (sakto jud imo description), plus the food presentation-we failed. Mosts americans are very particular on food presentation (on how it looks). Kung naa man gani veggies, pipila ra pod. And it doesnt look appealing, even myself, lud-on ko panagsa magtan-aw. Dili pod ta kahibalo mo-angay-angay sa presentation from plate to food. And if u noticed the servers or cashiers in filipino restaurants, nag-mug-ot lang pod....Walay customer service ba. That's one thing we lack too.
