studying other language doesnt mean you dont love your own or doesnt show nationality....
some people simply want to learn more and more!!! maybe rizal is one of them...

just because you love your own language, does not mean you can't learn other languages as well. just the same, just because you love your own family, does not mean you can't love the other families in the country... that's called nationalism. in any case, what is meant by language? i think most cebuanos prefer bisaya to tagalog, nonetheless it is the language imposed upon us. Why love a language that is not our own? a lot of people prefer english to tagalog..

pero love of language can also be an indicator of love of country. look at other asian nations like China.. their Premier never holds an interview in English, and that's not because he does not know how to speak it. Even when speaking to an American audience he speaks in Chinese and lets the translators do the talking... that's because the real audience are his people back home. Same with Japan and their PM's...

Its only here in the Philippines that the President is such a sycophant to the Americans. She even gives $1,000 tips to American waiters in their restaurants. I wonder how much she gives the pinoy waiter? Maybe coins in change.. that's what you call colonial mentality... she likes to impress her superiors (Americans) and treats her own kind like trash...
