I think you have it backwards. The authority and validity of the teachings of the Church do not come from the Bible. The authority of the Bible comes from the Church since it was the Church that determined what books should be part of the Bible in the first place.
The early Christians had no Bible. So what were they supposed to follow? Well, the followed the Church!
The Catholic Church eventually wrote things down and collected the older Hebrew scriptures (which Jesus used, by the way). After some time, it declared that certain books were Inspired and collected them into the Bible.
So without the Catholic Church there would be no Bible.
Another thing...
one of the main rules used to determine what should go intot he Bible was CONSISTENCY WITH CHURCH DOCTRINE. In other words, the books in the Bible had to conform to Catholic teaching before it was put included as part of the Bible. So obviously, the Bible is an
AFFIRMATION of Catholic doctrine.
