If you're in AMD system get the ASUS M3A78-CM good for multi purpose such like HTPC as well. It has DVI port, VGA and DISPLAY Port as well. Hybrid crossfire already perting nindota ani na mobo w/ express gate pa jud cya. This is what I am using on my PC for office system.

Processor get AMD Phenom II X3-X4 you will not go wrong...

RAM: At least 4GB is better DDR2 1066/800

Just get a higher PSU like silverstone 700W-1000W for stable performance. Consider the UPS for HTPC as well.

also planing on building an HTPC for our home theater, nice to know that you made a thread here.
one question, does your soundcard support dts-hd and dd true-hd?
if not, you should take a look at ati hd5750, hd5770 videocards and other higher end models from ati.
It upconverts 480i or 480p dvd's to 1080p which is in HD and also supports .H264, VC-1 and MPEG-2 which is also found in blu-ray, other than that it also supports dts-hd and dolby digital true-hd lossless audio through HDMI which sounds far superior than normal dts and dd formats. So you don't ned to have a soundcard on your pc, the vcard does the job for it and take note that its in HD audio and video formats.

That is what i'm planing to build but just don't know what mobo, ram and proc to get for reasons that ati hd5750 and other higher end ati vcards are GDDR5 memory.

    anyone here have some ideas?

the AMD 785G chipset is a good mobo for an AMD set up... lots of slots

the 785G chipset has onboard HDMI, firewire, sata, esata, 6 channel audio, VGA plus DVI outputs and etc.

you dont have to buy a graphics card becuase it already has a HD4xxx onbaord

    and its a power saver

ako comment ani kay ayaw na ilisi imong cpu, motherboard ug memory kay sufficient na sila mo do sa work kay di man ingun.ana ka heavy ang HD na di niya ma kaya. your ps is already hd capable. unsa imo gusto? gamay ug powerconsumption? if thats the case go for the 785chipset as they say its not more than enough but its just right.

Murag overkill ra man ang board.... I wont be using onboard video man sad.

Processor... any particular model #? Kanang nindot ug price/performance/power rating

    Ram: Dili ko mag DDR3?

I'll just stick with my Acbel... overkill ra nang taas ug wattage nga psu for a htpc.. i think..

The UPS is a good idea.

    Thanks!

I'm not that familiar sa Home Theater nga Audio setups pero mao ni supported sa M-Audio Revo 5.1..

    - DTS output and Dolby Digital 5.1 decoding using third-party applications
    - Digital out transmits PCM, plus passthrough of AC-3 and DTS(coaxial)

As of the moment, wala pa koy plans to connect this to a Home theater nga AV Receiver... pero nindot if the soundcard will be able to support it in the future.

I have a Sapphire 5770 but it's on my main rig.... currently using that one for FPS games / office / multimedia apps.

Good luck with your 5750 htpc setup!

MicroATX ni ang board with the AMD 785G chipset? The Silverstone SG03 only supports microATX.

The HD 4200 onboard is fine for light to medium settings pero mag lisod na siguro ni for the newer games... I'm also gonna make use of my 8800GT...

Though you have a point with energy efficiency... would like to leave the pc on all the time unya I can connect to it remotely via VNC. Gamit sad pang dload sad ug files .

Now that u've mentioned it... ill probably just keep this existing setup for now.....

    Board: Emaxx 690V AM2
    Memory: Corsair XMS 2x1G DDR2 800
Videocard: Palit Geforce 8800GT non-sonic edition (single slot)
    HDD: Seagate 500G 7200.12
    Monitor: Samsung 2232GW (1680x1050)

    Soundcard: M-Audio Revolution 5.1
    PSU: Acbel 510w

    New Parts
    Philips 6000 42" LCD TV 1080p , 120hz, 2ms

    Parts not being used:
    Videocard: Radeon X1900GT Rev2

    Mao ni akong Objective:

    1. Main Power Rig outside bedroom for FPS Games (Possibly for HD5770 eyefinity in the future), office work.

Type of games played: L4D(2) , MW(2), Operation Flashpoint, Borderlands...

    2. Energy Efficient htpc inside bedroom connected to TV. Games limited to those one might play on a console (Joystick, Wheel, Gamepad, Casual Mouse and KB only). HTPC is also for listening to music, watching movies, tv shows , downloaded videos.. etc.

Type of games played: H.A.W.X., NBA2k10, NFS Grid, Live For Speed

Akong dilemma karon is whether to....

    1. Keep my main rig as is and upgrade my secondary rig for htpc use

    OR

    2. Convert my main rig (Shuttle) into an HTPC, then upgrade my secondary rig and make it my main rig along with the HD5770.

    Sounds confusing
