Equipment wise, gamay ra man jud ang difference sa mga camera bodies. Makatawa sad ko sa uban (myself included haha) nga bag-o ra nakapalit ug camera unya ibaligya na dayon kay mag "upgrade."

Choosing between the Canon 1000D and the Canon 500D, I bought the 1000D because it's cheaper and there's not much big difference with the 500D. I don't need the video nor do I need the bigger LCD display screen. Digic 4 or Digic 3? I don't think buying the 500D will give me better photos. There's not much difference between the two, in fact it would seem like there's really no difference between the two if you compare photos taken by both of them. I don't think that even the extra megapixels will give me better photos. There's just no difference.

I mean, they're just the same dSLR with interchangeable lenses be it an L lens or whatever.

As for me, good looking photos comes with creativity and the right lens.

I know of one professional photographer who until now still uses the Canon 350D and his photos are much, much, much better than those taken with the 1000D, 450D, 500D or even the pro models. See his works here, stories | Pagtu-o and EstanCabigas.com - I Am a Documentary Photographer

    Hehehe..

pana ko...ganahan lang ko nindot ako pana...lol

i wouldnt be bringing a 350d with a kitlens in an F1 race or at the amazon jungle and expect stunning pictures...in fashion, why do you think photographers use medium formats instead of entry level dslrs? naa jud na reasons. as for me, i would choose equipment, the right tools would help me improve my field.

Yes, I agree with you that good photographers can make the mundane look interesting.

But if there are two photographers with equal skill and equipment taking pictures of two different subjects, the one with the better subject would obviously produce the better picture.

An example for landscape photography would be shooting the same scene at different times. One at a cloudy overcast day, the other at a fair day and in golden hour.

When shooting on a gloomy day, despite all your skills and equipment, you would be hard-press to come up with outputs that can compete with those shot in the best light.

    Another example:
Susan Boyle or Adriana Lima for a Victoria's Secret lingerie shoot. Who would you obviously pick as your subject?

I believe that an Indian with a "rapid fire, laser guided scope, and magnesium reinforced pana" would beat the indian with a single fire pana anyday... ANYDAY!

But of course... the indian has to be trained, skilled, and determined for the gear to be useful to him...

It is therefore my opinion that it is the combination of both.

ang saying nga wala sa pana kung dili sa indian... i think this only applies to when comparing cams of the same level. coz if maabot na ta sa point when we compare a d40 to a d3s or a 1000d to a 5d mkII and when budget is not a concern... then by all means get the higher model. no questions asked. pero for me lang ha, for everyday casual/amateur/hobby shooting, 70/30 or 80/20 jud na indian/gadget ratio.
