if you upgraded your procie from 1.7ghz to 2-3ghz... do you really need to change your HSF?
coz i got an old agilent arcticooler hsf for socket 478... do i need to change it or its just enough?
TIA

for me i need to change it to bigger size and bigger fan for better process..
its up to you but don't errr never forget to replace Thermal paste/grease which is very important in heat transfer from your procie to HSF...
to answer ur question correctly, well, it depends sa temperature, say you OC that procie to 2Ghz, and makita nimo nga dili man grabe ang raise sa temps, then it is tolerable, but as you Overclock goes higher, then the temperature goes higher too. so you need a temperature monitorinh software like core temp and real temp, u can download one here sa net. and after you bump up your speed, check your temps if tolerable pa ba, and if it is; then no need to buy an aftermarket hsf, but again, as u OC higher, temps gets higher
better look on the overall circulation of air in your casing rather than on your heatsink...if you are not overclocking your system then you are fine with the stock HSF. better add more ventilation on your casing by adding more fans on it, arrange the wires and stuff so it won't block the air passage, and situate your pc where there is constant air movement and not on corners...
Bai...ipa mod imo casing para maka taod ka ug additional intake/exhaust fan...musta naman ang ace online nato?...sige pa gihapon?
thanks au mga bro.. this helps alot
@shock: cge paman brad... almost every month naay new patch
