im the slowest..well maybe not the slowest but probably near the slowest to type in my class..around 25 wpm...yet im always the first one to finish all the exercises with the complete functionality..so fast typing is not really essential but i do believe it does improve productivity..just make sure u have the skills to back it up

OT: I don't see what's so unbelievable about this.

Back to topic:
It's an edge but not a requirement. And besides, if you constantly code, you'll eventually be increasing your typing speed.
