IMHO Kenny Bayless did the right call even after the 9th round the referee i thought had in mind to stop the fight but still give credits to Cotto to continue the fight despite being bloody, in a nutshell the referee could be liable if something bad will happen to the fighter and also if the referee see that a fighter no longer interested to engage then the story ends by that...with more or less 2minutes left in the fight their is no use to continue the fight even if the 12th canto will be given to Cotto he still lost with a big margin via unanimous or majority decision: scorecards reads From boxrec: judge: Adalaide Byrd 99-109 | judge: Duane Ford 99-108 | judge: Dave Moretti 100-108 all for Pacman before the halt...its just happen that Manny is a better fighter than Cotto on that event...theirs no need for a rematch because i don't think it creates a controversy during that fight it was a one lopsided match in favor of the PACMAN...^_^
tag from Cotto's media interview:
“I always try to bring all I can to my fights,” ...“It didn’t go my way tonight. The jabs I threw landed, but I didn’t not protect myself.”
Here’s how the Nevada State Athletic Commission judges (Adeladie Byrd, Duane Ford and Dave Moretti) Yahoo! Sports reporters (Kevin Iole, Martin Rogers and Dan Wetzel) saw Manny Pacquiao’s victory over Miguel Cotto at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday night. Pacquiao won via TKO at 0:55 of the 12th round.
