Only enjoyable outside the city--light pollution inside Metro Cebu will kill the experience.

The best Leonids experience I've had was in 2004, about 3-4 meteors a minute. This year's ZHR will be 200-300, which will be equal to 2004.

If nagmata ka ganina and wala ka nakit-an, it's NOT because it's not happening...it's actually happening right now, right this very minute (the debris trail is very long), pero ang PEAK sa shower maoy tonight. Meaning if wala ka'y nakit-an ganina, blame it on light pollution, not because of sipyat nga schedule.

I got hooked with backyard/doorstep astronomy (or lets just say, stargazing) back in 2001 because of
Leonids. My friends and I even went up camping at Mountain View Resort just witness these "shooting stars"
to happen at pre-dawn. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate that time and has dampened our
spirits. Luckily though, we realized right after camping that we were one day ahead for this event
as we overlooked the time zones, the UTs, the ETs, the GMTs, time differences, etc. In short, we were able
to witness the grand celestial fireworks display courtesy of comet Tempel-Tuttle. The Leonids2001
was not a meteor shower, it was a meteor storm! The inner-child in me have ahandful of wishes
prepared that time.... aw nahurot oi!
Even my friend's neighbors' dogs kept on barking as they watch the sky, maybe, just maybe, the
    dogs have their wishes too.

I'm wishing for a clear sky tonight 'til dawn...

We know there was science behind the meteor shower. But after witnessing the Leonids it all seems
so unfathomable: ancient material the size of sand grains, slamming into the atmosphere at more
than 200 times the speed of sound. A fiery death visible from 60 miles below. It was a show that
reminds us of our beginnings. Comets and meteors likely delivered water and other building blocks
used as the seeds of life on Earth. The gentle rain of fiery dust we saw was primordial material
leftover from the formation of our solar system, more than 4 billion years ago. Perhaps the same
    stuff we're made of.

We know we saw history Sunday morning. And it was a history that won't be repeated for nearly a
century, long after we're reduced again to the space dust from whence we came.
