    "purgatory
    - is the belief of a temporary place in which those who dies go after death where they are to be 'cleansed' and prepared for Heaven thru penal sufferings. Our days can be shortened by the prayers, masses, and good works of our loved ones here on earth... This is not what the Bible teaches! The belief in Purgatory poses a 'salvation by works' and diminishes the value of Christ's atonement made at the Cross.

    > The 2 intermediate states taught in the Bible:

    1) Hades (Hell)
    - Is the place of torment, pain, helplessness and sufferings. It is the place of the ABSENCE of God. It is where those who never believed and accepted Christ and His free gift of salvation will go.

    2) Paradise (Heaven)
    - It is a place of tranquility, blessedness, rest, joy, and comfort. It is the place of the very PRESENCE of God. The Bible calls this 'Abraham's bosom'. It is where those who have believed in Jesus Christ and have accepted His free gift of salvation will go."....Ya Bom...

murag wala kaayo na mao imong lecture sis..

    1. Paradise (abraham's bosom) is part of Hades where the righteous souls go. Hades is divided into two parts one the abode of the blest and the other of the lost.

    2. Paradise (abraham's bosom) is different from Heaven.

that's true that Jesus is the only way but Mary does not seek equivalence with him she knows where to stand and do not interpret her apparitions as something to oppose God's will. She has profound humility and does not seek any power. What she wants to be an instrument so that others would be saved.

If you're not Catholic, don't argue anymore coz after all you will it hard to accept ..
im not a catholic.. pakapin gubot lang gud.. hehehehe..

i dont think naa bad intention si mary.. naa lang jud uban tao misinterpret niya.. whats the point of praying to somebody else except christ? christ is there for everything nman diba?

this is what i would clarify: prayers for mary are for intercession meaning that she would help us pray to the most high ... it is just like saying "tabangi ko ug hangyo" and that's it. She's the Holy Mother of Christ (Sancta Dei Genetrix) and God has favored her a lot. So as the saints, it is a wrong notion that whenever we pray to them, we worship them. No. We only ask for their intercessions; it should be clear for non-catholics and even for some Catholics. These intercessions do not violate the first commandment for after all these intercessions would help us live the teachings of Christ, on how should be a Christian disciple.

Christ is the way, the truth and the life. That's is why we ponder upon the lives of the saints and how they were able to carry their crosses in a life full struggles and temptations. We ask for their intercessions to guide us back to Christ.

    Back to the topic ...
For those who do not believe in purgatory, as I've said, if it is good for you then keep it for it shall be a matter of heaven or hell when death shall come so I pray that you shall be prepared for it ...
For Catholics, have faith in the teachings of the Church that there is Purgatory and some of the saints have given testimonies on it. Let's help our brothers and sisters in purgatory so that they may enjoy the Beatific Vision as the saints and the holy angels do.

ahm. please enlighten a former catholic bout this.. do we really need for someone for intercession? why not go to christ directly..

kanang title nga HOLY mother of THE CHRIST, i find that disturbing.. im sure pati si mary dili gusto ana nga title, she may have preffered the title mother of jesus.. buy giving HOLY MOTHER seems like giving her a very high status almost above christ himself.. dba the elder is always higher? so where na si joseph?

about purgatory.. i really dont see it sa bible.. not good enough for heaven and not bad enough for hell.. quite contradicts the teaching of Christ.. "i am the way the truth and the life, he who believes in me will not perish but have everlasting life" everlasting life = heaven, perish = hell.. aha man dha nabutang purgatory?

why must things be so complicated... id rather stick to christ rather than the saints..

kung way purgatoryo or kanang kamot sa ginuo nga limpyohanan sa mga sala aw majority impyerno tanan tao..
again basaha ang Revelation, ang nakabutang kay:
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
    Revelation 20:12

kasabot ka sa "and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works."?

according to their works dili according sa pag-ampo sa kalag nga naa sa purgatoryo.
see unsay kalainan sa bible og cathecism?

SISTER FYI lang, sa bible kay duha ka judgment, ang unang muagi sa judgment og mabuhi kay:

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
    1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
    1 Corinthians 15:50-54

og ang ikaduha nga judgment kay mao ang final judgment.

Paila lang gyud ka sa pagkaignorante sa bible, ang paglimpyo sa sala kay kini:

16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
    Acts 22:16

nya kung limpyo naka kay humanag bunyag kay ang imo buhaton kay likayan nimo nga dili naka makasala, kung makasala kay mangayog pasaylo sa Ginoo (basta dili sala nga ikamatay).

    og ang pinakanindot kay:

10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
    Hebrews 8:10-12

7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.
    Romans 4:7-8

og aron dili ta makasala kay kini ato buhaton:
11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
    Psalms 119:11

og mao kini ang pahinumdum sa bible:
5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
    2 Corinthians 13:5

    Peace!

please show verses from the bible that Paradise (Abraham's bosom) is different from Heaven.

Mao ni ang mabasa sa bible necrotic freak:

1 It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.
2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth such an one caught up to the third heaven.
3 And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth
4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

    2 Corinthians 12:1-4

    Peace!
