hi just wanted to ask, are there certain trees that are poisonous to koi? because my pond has a NEEM TREE directly above it, so the leaves go into the water. neem has medical properties if i am not mistaken, worry ko lang baka toxic sya sa fish? thanks

    Hi,

    Koi neophyte here.

I have a 70 ton pool that I am converting to a koi pond. I'm on a budget and I would like to keep the option of going back to having a pool in the future. I am installing an aerator and UVs, but I have no other formal filtration system. My question is, if I only plan to have about 10-15 adult kois, will this set-up work? Few fish in a large amount of water without filtration? The accumulated dirt at the bottom I will manually siphon once a month or so. Feasible? Or does it spell disaster?

    Thanks for the feedback.

IMHO, it's a big no no. filtration is the important part of a pond.

I agree..basta fish keeping regardless of type, quality of water is #1 priority..

Nice looking kohaku you got here. Nice hi, nice skin and head, decent pattern. One flaw though is the body conformation. Lacks bulk around the shoulders. But decent koi na rin. Congrats!
