Go for d90, ang dili nako ganahan sa d5000 is the monitor kay swevel. since naka flexiwire
siya dilikado nga dali ra maputol

Hi mga bro, I ended up buying both d5ooo 18-55VR kit lens, d90 body, 18-200VR, 35mm f/1.8afs, and the ever popular 50mm f/1.8D.
both cameras are good and here are some features I experienced handling both:
D5000-
* I like the swivel screen especially when taking videos, shooting from below or from above.
* Its light and easy to carry and most likely its always the one that i grab whenever going for a trip.
* Quite shutter feature, lessen the sound of shutter when taking pictures.
* Very quick playback button shift from live view mode(you need to turn of LV of D90 to go to Playback)
* Both take good pictures well more or less coz they have desame sensor with d90.
D90-
* extra controls to adjust aperture and shutter speed and exposure can be adjusted on the fly without
going through the menu or I button.
* clear 3" screen
* the clearer and bigger pentaprism viewfinder(compare to pentamirror of d5000)
* you can adjust the exposure while taking video
These are just my observation in using both. I know there are lots and tons of features from both cams. I love both cameras but I will settle for one only.
I am leaning to keep my D90 and maybe sell my D5000 with its kilt lens 18-55VR.
why? because I feel that features like extra buttons come in handy, and most especially when I mount my 18-200, it feels balance when I hold it.
hope this can help to anybody.
salamat.....
@TS: listen to chipmunk bro... he is a d90 user and will never be the same... hehehehe... he knows d90 like the back of his hand... hehehehe bitaw bro... d90 is the real deal, if not d3s nalang heheheh joke patay ta sa price ana.
wow gpalit jud nimo ang duha diay?? maypa imo nalang g.invest ug d700 ba kaha..
wala pa ko need ana bro, maybe later pa kaayo. im happy with the D90 as of today.

@ tonyray
good choice ton. but quite amusing you really bought the two just to opt for the final decision^^
if you are cebu based, join us in our IPC =)
@ nowayl
hahaha! nice post^^
indeed, i agree, D5000 is worth of that award. it is a very easy to use dslr, even to beginners, due to its an advanced camera cloaked in a basic coat. the simple menu plus it has the same sensor from higher end models like the D300, and d90.
@ zubano
lol!^^ why a newbie like me^^ there are masters that are users also of D90 here in istorya who are experts in maneuvering it. anyway, i choose d90 over d5000 simply due to the wider variety of advanced functions(check manuals and reviews for comparison & details) it has and it is a very fast deployment dslr designed for upper-end users. i want fast recoiling and reloading upon shooting(it is very useful indeed specially to my faved type of photography which is macro that needs frequent maneuvering in split of a second overcoming the uncooperative subject).
