Arrow Which is better man jud? Nikkor 18-135mm or 18-105 VR?

I am confused between the two.. Kung asa jud ang mas maayo.. Would it be the Nikkor 18-135mm or the 18-105mm nga VR? Ang duha lang atong i compare. Disregard the 18-200mm VR kay for sure mas maayo man jud to..

    Please share ur ideas/opinions/suggestions..

Based on personal experience, 18-105mm VR wins by a mile... layo ra kaayo ang difference. I've tried them both and the biggest difference i think is the VR. The FL difference of 30mm on the tele side is really negligible if you ask me. Had the difference been on the wide side, then that will be another story.

    18-105mm VR for me!

newbie here ... pero based sa ako nabasahan, naa daw formula for consumer grade optics and quality grade optics which is max focal / min focal must be less than or equal to 3 to be a quality grade optics. Example, 70-200 nga lens .. that is 200/70 that is around 2.857 (below 3) .. mao na quality grade optics. The lower the no (or closer to 1.0), the better the image quality. This answers daw why most (if not all) PRIME lenses have good image quality (ex. 50mm is 50/50 = 1 ... the closer you are to 1 the better is the image quality.)

Any optics daw with rating of above 3.0 is consumer grade which means it gives you better focal range but the trade off is more on quality.

ex. 18-200 (200/18=11.11) ... image quality wise daw not as good as those 3.0 and below but will give you the focal range flexibilty .. that is from UWA to Telephoto ... so its quality vs flexibility .. your choice daw.

based lang ni sa ako nabasahan ha. im also newbie, relying mostly on research and readings. so im not sure if this is true or not.

NOTE: This comparison daw is based on the SAME CLASS. Example comparison for VR Class lenses or f2.8 Class lenses and not VR vs Non-VR or an f4 vs f2.8

i'd suggest the 18-135 because of the reach.
VR is nindot baya pero ayaw lng ug pagkape gud :P
(well, nisurvive man lagi tong mga karaang photographers na wala pa na imbento ang VR?)

nindot man na silang duha... pero they have their limits. ;P

based on experience, both lenses are good, i also have both lenses to compare with, 18-105 has VR, BTW I heard 1 Pro photographer "said" Dili man gyud ni ka a u gamit, you can compensate it with a faster shutter speed, unless 200mm na nga telephoto kay very sensitive na gyud ang camera shake, 18-135 has 30mm longer reach, mao ra ni ang nakalahi sa duha, its your call.

hmm.. ako pud opinion brad kung asa kaya imo budget. But 30mm difference murag wala ra nah ug longer the focal length is prone to camera shake.

dis-regard man kaha ang 18-200mm so kuha nalang ka ug 17-55mm hehehehe.....
