aside from transportation cost, oil companies blame the lack of competition as a driving force behind higher oil prices in the Visayas. In the case of Luzon, high demand drives prices down. In the case of Visayas, low demand drives prices up. Is the law of economics natural? NO, and by all means these companies can dictate the price themselves. It's a question of whether one intends to amass gargantuan profits at the expense of the mass transport sector, the riding public, higher inflation rates.

Government's dilemma: Price freeze in favor of the masses or preserve the profit(greedy) interests of big businesses. Laissez-faire, crony capitalism with no safeguards for the exploited at its best.

dugay naman na ang 10pesos (average) price difference sa manila and cebu (or other visayas province) ka notice ko ani dugay na since 2 yrs ago pa. I don't think 10 pesos mo justify sa ila pag ingon wlay competition, naa man mga depot sad diri sa cebu, tanawa lang na sa mandaue before crossing to mactan... So meaning if 10pesos ang ila patong sa oil price in Visayas. Kana sguro lugi na ang oil companies diri but I think it's not possible since daghan man diri layo nag work or asyoso or travels together with the family and etc..etc.. daghan rason.

Should it be that prices of gas should be lower in less developed areas? How come our gas prices are 10pesos more expensive? Plus 12% govt tax pa! What the government can do now is take out the 12% tax on oil prices. I guess the government won't allow that since they need the tax money for their own use!
