Anyone here using this brand of UV filter for their lenses? How is it doing for you in relation to the quality of image output? Are you going bare/naked?
I'm aware of the multi coated and expensive ones but just curious about Sunpak.

Currently using one, so far it's not interfering with my shots as my main purpose for installing it is for extra protection on my lens.
if ill be using filters for a dslr, it should be mc or expensive ones. any additional glass after the main lens should affect iq.
investing expensive lens but equipped it with low cost glass on front is a joke. i dont sacrifice iq to protection. i just be extremely careful with and keep it clean always.
i'm using one for my 50mm. oks ra man siya bay.
then smooth ra ang tread niya inig screw sa imong lens
Chip, have you tried one? If I "google" I get all shorts of information, and very similar to what you just said about expensive lens with low cost glass joke. But never really saw any sample image of what they're talking about only scientific explanation that makes my head ache.
There are replies here that says they don't have a problem with the said IQ degradation. What I do read about is that there are instances that you really need to remove the UV filter whether it's the multi coated or the low cost/cheap piece of glass.
I'm asking because I'm thinking of buying a B+W (mrc) but the price of Sunpak is tempting. So yeah. I've decided to have the extra protection. I just haven't decided yet if I should use a cheap piece of glass to cover my already cheap lenses (18-55mm IS kit lens and 50mm EF 1.8 II)
its not a joke^^ it is really true. and yes, i have tried it with my previous canon sx10is. the brand was sunpak too but a low cost non-multicoated one. it degrades the sharpness and color rendering was a bit different. i always shoot in jpeg so this might be the reason why i need the IQ right out of the box. but if you shoot in raw, the little degradation might be controlled.
