huh? i don't think the da vinci code (the movie) was banned by the mtrcb. i even saw the poster of the movie in country mall, labeled as coming soon. it's going to be shown this may or june i think. i even saw the trailer of the movie shown in ayala when i was about to watch brokeback mountain, which was also a controversial movie i feared that mtrcb would ban. thankfully they didn't.

regarding the novel, i've heard about it since 2004 but i didn't care to read it at all. i was even sent an e-book copy but anything that deals with religion is just not my thing. i don't like anything that deals with it.

i read the book, as well as the other books by dan brown....it's a fiction. you just have to make sure that you understand the facts stated in the prologue so you can differentiate which is fact and which is fiction....the book has a very nice plot and very convincing arguements taht you sometimes wonder whether it's true or not...but the point is, the author made a disclaimer that it's a fiction...so why the fuss? why is the church making a big fuss over a fictional story? could the author be hitting on something they never want to reveal?
besides, there is a part there that the author explains that faith is the foundation of beliefs....that's the reason why it's called faith, coz you believe in that no matter the circumstances or the contradicting evidences

it's a great book...word of caution though, you need to have a clear understanding of the bible and a strong faith (if you're worried about shakening your faith)...

for me, i don't care if jesus did marry at that time, he was a human at that time, God made him that way...but doesn't make him less divine NOW...

Yeah, it is sort of a fad/bandwagon thing. But later on after reading the book, I say its a good one. It really shook part of what I believe in, (or did i ever had that faith). It really made me rethink of what I should believe in. But in the end you would realize, that that is history, true enough the bible was written by man, and translated even from original text. So it could be edited or not completely accurate. anyways, understanding the movie would be difficult if you didn't read the book.
