I think we don't to excel in english para mahimong progressive ang atong country. Look at Japan, Korea and other neighboring Asian countries they are progressive but in fact they're using their own language. Where are we?? We belong to a 3rd world country.

why bother about this SWS survey... were did they actually get their data? if that's the case, why do a lot of call center campanies are booming in our country were major language used is english? just think about it, could it be that people who work at SWS so damn lazy to go to actual business destricts where english language are at most... were do they go, hell who know.. probably at the squater area.... or they just doctor all questionares... (some lazy a$$)...

@pandisal: if it didn't bother u, so why react that way?

ok sineryoso nata diri beh.. kay murag hots na kau mo da..hehe..

this research was conducted using a mix of upper, middle, and lower clas filipinos. the SWS survey is not stupid enough to only conduct interviews to lower class respondents, as what some of you might think.. know how the research process works and how to conduct a survey, and you'll know what i mean.

lol.. just irrate about this survey ... specially if its negative affect to our country.... will I guess I really want to see and hear positive things para sa pinas... and instead negative after negative news headlining on our newspapers... and you should know, based on this national survey, call center business which is triving and booming will be affected on this... what if a prospected businessman from abroad is planning to put up his own call center and read about this news... what will happen for the some hundreds or thousands of jobs that will be created ... instead that businessmen saw the headline and back away.... can you see the effect?? oh yah, ... some idiot that we all know well, will love that to happen... (sorry for my language.. its rainning isn't they!)

back away? i dont think that would be a possibility.. at least now not that i know of. compare the percentage of english speakers in our country to that of other asian countries, and you'll know what im talking about. don't you know that the Philippines is the largest asian english speaking country in asia? come to think of it, why did investors chose Philippines in the first place? coz they know investing in the country is cheaper and that there is a high percentage of english proficiency and high literacy rate. 65% may seem low, but comparing it to other countries in asia seems to be a reasonable number for other call center companies to continue to invest, at least..

    thanks you..
