    Default setting up a home web server - help


    ako isp karon is smartbro, kaning ila 999 na plan. i just converted my pc to a dedicated web server (lamp - linux). problem is dili ma access ang ako site sa gawas sa akong network. sa local okay ra, maka access ang ako laptop, but sa gawas sa network dili.. and then recently i found out na ang smartbro is using NAT behind a router. so possible mao ni ang problem..

    anyone pls help me unsa na mga isp diri sa cebu/philippines pede maka provide ani na service, kanang mo allow og himoon nako ni ako usa ka pc to a dedicated web server para eventually ako nalang mismo mag host sa ako site.. okay lang d au pas2x, just for experimental purposes lang man pod karon..

    yep bro u'r rite, pro I used dyndns pod para point nalang nako ako dynamic na ip sa ila, then sila na bahala update sa domain nako. naki sub-domain lang ko kato ako gibuhat na website, something like lenshark.homelinux.net, testing2x lang to. but do u think bro pede ang smartbro ani na purpose?

    wala bay side effect ana bai kung imo pc ang mag hostkanang ma hack imo account ba??or something like that...

    naka try na pud ko ana dyndns.com pro ala ko gi tiwas basin naay ma daot ba...

    secure ba na sya??ehehe thnx

    Setting up a webserver is kinda easy as long as the right protocols are properly set-up. When it comes to network or router, you might encounter some obstacles around it until you make it visible to the outside world. It will take some time to configure it. Have patience.

    guys update, smartbro does not allow their clients to run web server gamit ilang plan 999 na service, blocked nila ang in going data sa atong port 80. mao na ka mangtas ang smart bro hehe.

    solution: i will be applying kato plan 990 mydsl sa pldt which is 384 kbps. what ihead is okay ni xa and mo allow og in going data sa port 80.

    i will be posting a simple howto guide once i'm done with this. -)
