Well, considering Hetalia jumps from one timeline to another, Himaruya can incorporate a Philippines character but not in the WW timeline. Look at Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Vietnam. I guess their stories will be about the recent issues of the modern day (Taiwan and Hong Kong running away from China's house? pfftt.. xDDD hahaha)
Anyway, i'd still love a Philippines character. Oh wait, let me show you the sketch:

@Japan's line to China: Yeah i like that line too. It's funny and it's actually true. I've read somewhere (i forgot if it was from the mangaka/author's actual notes or if it was from my research, but the first(??) documented letter from Japan (gikan ba to sa emperor) to China (sa emperor ba to sa China) said the same lines. "Hello, China, where the sun sets. This is from Japan, from where the sun rises." And the Chinese emperor was like "What is this?! How rude!!" xDDD

@about the maid thingy: There are actually some fanarts in the livejournal Hetalia community depicting Philippines as that, although they actually admitted that it might be a bit insulting to some Filipinos. So a lot of the Filipino Hetalia fans are hoping that Himaruya won't depict Philippines-chan as that. But i guess it can't be helped. Since well.. that's the truth. xD

Philippines as a male is fine, but i kinda like it if she's a female. xD Because the Hetalia cast needs some more female characters. Oh, and "Pearl of the Orient Seas" doesn't sound manly. xD
