For the first time I saw Jupiter and three of its moons, and our very own moon, up close. Thanks to mjdianne for bringing her telescope and jfox for his binoculars. My dream last night was about... planets.

Some photos taken by me and Luthienne during the event...

Venue for the event, Ayala Terrraces.

Venue for the event, Ayala Terrraces.

USC Physics Society members in Yellow

    Chris and Tomio setting up

    Event banner.

Tomio getting assistance from the PhySoc members

    Chris taking shots

    Sky finally clears!

Mjdianne and me setting up her Newtonian Reflector at the Northwest side of the area.

jfox setting up his 10x50 binoculars on a tripod, for moon viewing

MJdianne, myself and jfox strike a pose...I really like jfox's IYA 2009 T-shirt!

As soon as we finished setting up, the line of people instantly appears!

Luthienne lining up for her turn to peek at the crescent moon.

Attaching Mjdianne's finder to the scope, for Jupiter targeting later.

Great crescent moonshot over Ayala by Luthienne.

MJdianne and me had to compensate for earth's rotation manually because we didn't have time to set up her motor mount.

    Locating and targeting Jupiter.

    Chris Go's lecture session.

I check the position of Io, Europa and Ganymede using Stellarium, as mall guard and boy look on.

Tomio's HUGE C14 delighted everyone, and for most people it was the first time in their lives to see the Planet Jupiter and its moons up close.

CA3 members pose with Chris and Tomio.

Absolutely fun event...can't wait for next time. Thanks to everyone who participated and helped out!
