But you mean scary as in scary? From Ringu, Ring 2: Call of Evil, Ring 0: THe Birthday, The Grudge, The Phone, and recently, The Wishing Stairs.
Actually, 'babaw' ra their story, but black hair is just too friggin scary, man! Plus Asian horror movies hit more close to home, diba?
I love the stuff, really.
the exorcist.... by linda blair
THE EXORCIST isn't so scary to me. though it was marketed as the most "terrifying movie of all time", its really a drama at heart.
Its more a religous movie also.
but the movies that really had that lasting effect of fear on me are:
THE TERMINATOR (1984)
HALLOWEEN (197
you don't get a lot of gore in those movies. you don't see people crawling out of wells, or people's guts and brains everywhere but they are SCARY. try them
especially HALLOWEEN. its not a splatter movie, but fear in general is pretty much personified by John Carpenter's masterful direction of the film.
SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE
I saw Diane Keaton full-frontal. I saw Jack Nicholson's naked ass.
I am scarred for life.
