Life style checks for our Politicians

If we also put our Politicians through a lifestyle check, do you think your congressman, your mayor will pass it?

Published lately were news reports detailing the disparity between the actual rich lifestyle as against the petty annual salaries of government employees with the BIR and BOC. This is a very laudable project of government and should be sustained.

I just wonder, since our politicians are also public servants, more so bestowed with public trust through elections, should they not also be covered by the lifestyle check? What do you think?

I agree with checking the lifestyles of our politicians...it's one way of knowing whether there is a conflict of interest..whether they spent soo much investment (time and/or 'our' money) to their own private businesses as opposed to what they should be doing as public servants..

i think high-ranking officials such as congressmen, senators and the president are obliged to submit (annually?) their current SAL (Statement of Assets & Liabilities)..**correct me if I'm wrong**...i think it's one way of checking their lifestyle and whether there were drastic changes in their recent private activities...one way of knowing if our gov't funds were used in projects for the benefit of the public, not merely for his/her own brood...

only a few good noteworthy persona would probably pass this Lifestyle Check...

Not only politicians but for public employees. Like the immigration employees. Im sure they have unexplained wealth that they get from somewhere "illigally". I guess even ang guard didto is living high.
