[QUOTE=guilliam;5717874]good suggestion boss. will take a video of the routine. unfortunately i cant have my tzu's with a prong collar. will have my gr or gsd as for the demo

just an input bai,u can train dogs no matter how large especially young dogs not just by prong/pinch collar or any other punitive methods.the use of prongs are are more so prehistoric & are ideally for large-aggressive dogs with behavioral issues, with which is advocated by 'old school' dog trainers like koehler, saunders & the likes.in fact,i havent used any prongs or even chokers in training my rotts, especially the heel part, they wear chokers only now when they're mature enough & in dog shows.use positive reinforcement more in dealing with training & more so,i could assist u in going through the process.

thanks @humper for the heads up.
my/our small breeds(mostly ST's) we are are not training for companion dogs. TBH the small breeds/toy-breeds the most they can do for us on our play time is "play-dead", fetch and retrieve.
would love to learn more on the positive re-enforcement as of now; specially i have a GR in the yard.

give us/me a shout when youre back in cebu and not busy(as per your schedule). would love to invite you again as speaker/resource person in one of CSDC's gathering.

i just replied on the post which i overlooked for sometime; which i thought is a good idea to have a video "routine" and training on dog-walking on collar-leash(large breeds).

since its ur 'companion' in ur house, better yet train it to become one by molding its behavior to a desired one,in fact, that play time ur referring to,can be a build a bond between u 2,builds a drive within ur dog & at the same tym,a great 'exercise' (both physically & mentally) in molding ur dog's behavior..while playing lure him/her to a sit or any position u desire & making the toy a reward, after ur dog does the desired behavior.
toy dogs/small dogs build up the 60% of the 'problem dogs' in the society. This is due to the FACT that they are often spoiled, carried around, etc.(mostly by the ladies, whom i often referred to as 'PARIS HILTON WANNABEES' )coz of the 'cuteness factor' and at the same disregard the training part because they say its just a pet,its small enough to a big problem later on,its so delicate, etc.sometimes that statement is sooo overrated that i think PARIS HILTON is to be blamed for it
