it does matter... IMO, if you're looking for a CRT that can run 85hz @ 1600x1200, men?! that's gonna be a very powerful and very big CRT?!

    Any Screen size?

    Try using a 15" on 1600x1200 setting.
    Nyehehehe..

Where are you gonna find that kind of monitor.
It has to be a 50" incher or something.

Thats an overkill. Tell your friend that.

... i pressume you want to have 85hz refresh rate so that you won't strain your eyes that much tungod sa flicker.
...of course, high resolution because it's for graphics use.

IMO, a CRT monitor would not be practical. (i'm not sure though kung naa ba locally available nga inana nga monitor diri)
    1. it's gonna be veeeerrrryyyyyy big.
    2. it will surely consume a lot of power
    3. it's gonna make your room very hot (imagine a very big CRT in your room, initan na gani ko sa akong 17")

i think it's more practical to buy LCD instead... expensive? yes! but you can get those requirements (1600x1200). siguro a 19" LCD kaya na og 1600x1200. AND the most important, flicker free ang LCD...

really keep your antics to your self and post something usefull.he has decided that he will settle for a Samsung 1100DF as it can do 1280x1024@85 Hz , 1600x1200@80hz , 2048x1536 / 75 Hz

and no its not overkill and you dont need a 50" for that

thanks to those who helped and tried to help. no further reply from this thread anymore thanks
