so far, mao pa niy 'uplift' akong nakit-an diri.
Constant baya pud ang improvement. so far
Kung gusto gyud ka mu 'uplift' kaha, buhati paagi, otherwise, murag suya ra gyuy rason ana Sikat naman gud kaayo bisan 'bulay-og'!
Kanang ilang gi ingon na 'sound of the south' synonymous na sa backyard bay. Naa man pud dili ka uyon didto pero daghan man kaayo kapilii-an mga studios diri so nganung mangugat man ug problema anang backyard bah..?
    Hmmm...
Kung naa kay chance, pangutan-a ang Shiela and the insects, urban dub, the ambassadors, junior kilat, frank, powerspoons ug daghan pang wa nako kaila, what backyard is to them...
Pero so far, galisud pako ug pa schedule didto!

gahuwat pami diri ug lahi pagyud na alternatibong kapiliian ug dili stoya among gikinahanglan...Produkto, sampol ba..

    Uzer,

No probs man, if you like Micmic's mix. Sorry to say this but, you don't any idea what hi-end means and what it sounds like.

Well, anyway you're not an engineer. That's the reason why you don't get my point. he he he.

How can you compete in the international arena if mentally is like that? Kutob ra mo sa Pilipinas. kong magkalisod sa Cebu ra gyud tawn. No offense. Let's face it... Peace

I'm looking forward to see guys inig balik nako diha sa Cebu. Kong ganahan mo?

hala ka uy, di tingali ta mag-away ngari, naa man jud na criticisms ba, bisan bati pa na, at the end of the day, naa ta makat-unan.
ako ra kato mga parties involved jud ani will be open-minded sad, dili kana close-book kaau, sama ra kung banda ta, kung naa mu-ingon na bati ang ato tinukaran, maka think twice ta and check out unsa ato ma improve. makasabot sad ko na shempre ma hurt sad ato ego ana, pero the good thing about it is kay naa jud naminaw sa ato music.

bottomline ani, mag-tinabangay ra jud ta, kita2x ra jud ni, gamay ra kaau ta sa pilipinas. to whisper, since you're on the best studios in the world, share your tips pud to bands and engineers alike para naa sad ta ma look forward to as improvement. to friends of micmic, ayos ra man na bai, kaila man sad mi ni micmic, i'm very sure, he's as experimental as ever, and he never ceases to push his limits.

basta keep our music alive lang jud, and suporta ta ato local music! payter!

well, at least mic2x is not just all about talk, he's all about product.
he's not a recording engineer either, he's a multi instrumentalist with bands.
People close to him knows that. The reason he got to the studio business is accidental. He says he's just not contented with the studios here like myself so he did it his way. Backyard was a private studio but bands made it a business, because they're all narrowminded to pay for such a low end crap..

As i have said, ang mga ning sikat na banda karun nationwide na gikan sa cebu, iya produkto.
mas nindut pud iya sound compared sa mga hi-end studios sa manila (in my narrowminded opinion and of those hi-profile bands who made it nationwide)

International arena? C'mon, kinsa may pinoy nga naka break out na diha?

Aw, basin ikaw pay makabuhat ana, buhata kuno, pick up a band from cebu, trabahu-a nya palusuta sa international scene..Kana, Tu-o ko nimo,
murag sa tukar man pod tingali na do, the target audience are not audio engineers who knows hi-end!

hahay, d ko engineer but i know what i want to hear, and all those bands that aquired mic2x's services are narrow minded.

well, do you have a name that I can Google? at least?
you can try mic2x's name and see, mao ni iya name: Kerryl Demeterio (sorry bay mic pero wala man pud kay paki pud as ever haha)

let's try to close this rift between mic2x not being hi-end in his mixing + mastering capabilities.
I have tried at least 3 recording studios here in Cebu, and judging if it's high-end or not is like catching snowflake number 23 in a hailstorm, get it?

    1. let's face the biggest fact here, Bakyard Project Studio doesn't have the equipments a classy studio in Los Angeles can afford. I understand what you mean by high-end, listening to hi-fi Nine Inch Nail recent album over my modest 5.1 Bose can at least give you the idea. We love to get that same thickness + crispness, but right now, resources are limited, at least on backyard, equipment-wise.

    2. Most of the bands right now are in-love with that indie lo-fi sound. To most of these bands, this sounds cool and at that, you can't simply rate a mix/master over such artistic expression. Bottomline here, the artist dictates the sound shapes they want to come out. As Whisper puts it, "Mixing is an art of compromise." Ask yourself as an engineer, if Metallica wants to record in your studio, and they wanted it pure live + raw, will you push for the hi-fi sound?

    3. To me, I had an experience working with Mic2x for some songs, and he's good at that, great if not. He's a smart guy who considers the capability of the majority of the intended crowd as Uzer puts it. As anyone knows, not anyone has the luxury of owning those 10grand-something sound systems. Bottomline: If the cebuano or pinoy majority has these 10grand-something systems, then Mic2x can for sure whip out that hi-end sound.

    4. Lastly, it's the material + band matters.

    5. Talk is CHEAP.

    My 2 cents.
