TYPHOON ONDOY DISPLACED NOT JUST PEOPLE BUT ALSO THEIR PETS







As rescue operations continue in the aftermath of Typhoon Ondoy, the Philippine Animals Welfare Society (PAWS) has begun its rescue operations for displaced and missing pets.

Even if animals are often given last priority in search and rescue, PAWS is doing what they can to save pets and reunite them with their owners.

Volunteer veterinarians are on standby to assist in treating displaced animals.

But PAWS is also in need of resources to accommodate animals brought to the shelter. According to an Inquirer interview with Anna Cabrera, the program director of PAWS, they are in need of roofed dog cases and pet carriers, pet food, pails, basins, old blankets and towels, emergency lights, portable mini-gasul burner/stove and drinking water for humans as well as medicines such as antibiotics, injectable sedatives, dextrose etc.
