'we are all His brothers and sisters' dont mean that we can address Jesus with any name we want. There will always an underlying boundaries on how we should relate to the Lord. We are His creation and He died to save us. We should humble ourselves and start a stronger bond, not 'bro', Jesus is His name, appropriate and exact to the context of catholicism. By saying His name, just by merely doing such act sends a stronger message.

TS, let me give you very clear and more common examples of "using GOD's name in vain". Ready? Here we go:

-that's you and how u interpret it. using the name of the Lord in vain is a broad concept. that maybe true that when people curse, they utter gd, jmj, omg, etc. but that's just variations of it. using the Lord in vain also means breaking a contract or a promise made in the name of the Lord. 'bro, i wnt steal again' is a weak statement for it can be easily broken since people can argue that they didnt pray to God.

No, I don't know anyone in the Bible that called Jesus a brother but that won't stop me from referring to His as such. If Jesus is not ashamed of calling me His brother, then all the more reason that I won't be ashamed of calling Him as mine.

Snowleopard, is that what makes a promise strong to you? Words? I have been taught that it is sincerity that makes a promise strong or weak not the words used. No matter to whom the promise is directed or how beautiful the wording is, if the person that makes the promise is not sincere then the promise will be broken sooner or later. Also if the person INTENDS to argue rather than APOLOGIZE after the promise is broken then the promise is useless from the beginning.

i just read the first page of the thread an itseems that the TS mind is closed... anyways anyone are entitled to its own opinion, pero ngano butangan man jud nimo ug malisya ang pagtawag sa ginoo.... remember god is everything.... god maybe our brother,sister,mother,father,friend,wife,husband.. . nobody knows.... calling GOD "bro" is a another way of accepting god as your friend and a brother... i dont fear GOD because GOD is my friend and i accept god as part of me, do you fear your friend or brother?

I agree with this.

But people just have different opinions. The TS aims to go back to the early catholic norms.
And I based mine in the bible (though im not expert in it).
And some in there own dogma or there own understanding.
