To get info such as logs, IP's, and email addresses from us, we will require a court order and much more important than that, we will require a good reason... a very good and convincing one. It will be a bit tricky... unless of course if they manage to hack into our servers or accounts.

.. i really am amazed with how they came up with this so called multiplier effect. Really now, is it ACTUALLY HAPPENING ?? Have we seen this multiplier effect ?? Guess not, maybe they did, coz their pockets got heavy, but the public never did felt this effect.

kung akoy politiko wanting to feel the pulse or opinions of the people, or what people are talking about concerning them, one way is to surf the net. and most likely, one can find our discussions in the net.

even newspapers are already online nowadays...

what this topic only affects is on the minds of some istoryans or readers who think allegations like these is already the truth. it also adds fuel to their bias.

@Lytsplr: do u really think now it is justifiable for you to conclude (by your own gut-feel) that your old case was resurrected due to your rantings against Capitol here? if im not mistaken, you have been ranting about them since eons ago. what if your old case really needs to be acted upon for closure? coz u cannot "resurrect" or continue acting on an old case if that case was already dismissed or closed, di ba? so meaning, your case was still left hanging for quite some time. we already know nga duuugay rba gyud kaayo modagan ang kaso diris Pinas.

for all I know, I think you are the only one who thought Capitol is after you just because you criticize them here. is there anyone else here having your same situation? I don't think so.

so far, I have not been experiencing the same "supposedly" situation even though I have been highly critical of Tomas, noting that he is more likely to go after people who rubs him the wrong way. just like what happened to FB users lately gud.

in my own personal opinion, and I hope u can respect this, I can call this paranoia. and this paranoia is not enough justification for you to make it look like it is already factual or the truth or to assume something irresponsible by stating "napahilom man gani c Leo Lastimosa, ordinary tawo na ba kha". but unless you intend to spin a propaganda here, aw that's your right that nobody can take away from you.

just a polite question, did any politician ask for info (i.e. logs, IP's, email addy's) from you guys via court order or much more important reasons? is it possible that a mod or admin could somehow leak info to them w/o a court order or authorization from one of you?

I also know that while a forumer may have revealed his identity here by himself, resulting to other forumers personally knowing him, either in this forum or from informal istoryan gatherings, or may have been revealed by circumstance i.e. a forumer telling another forumer that his alias is this and that, and that other forumer telling another who is not even a member here, thus leaking the info.

In all of our more than 7 years of existence, not once have we received any form of request for personal info. If they decide to do so, they also have to consider the implications. We all know what the internet can do. If you play the internet the wrong way, you will feel the *unpleasant* benefits. It's a toss up between getting what you want or getting what you deserve. It's up to you how you'd interpret those lines.

There is always a possibility of leakage, however, everything needs to be authenticated if they are going to use it for legal proceedings. Like you said, there are other ways to get the info you need. Google is a very powerful tool if you know how to use it.
