i agree! i'm really puzzled... granting the priest is innocent and aside from money since priests don't really have that personal money, what could be her reason of doing this to the priest? spurned psycho-crush?

Priest welcomes transfer of probe

The preliminary investigation on the rape complaint against Fr. Joey Belciña will be held in Cebu City.

This after Regional State Prosecutor Antonio Arellano granted yesterday the motion for inhibition filed by the priest’s lawyer, Gloria Lastimosa-Dalawampu.

Although he was prepared to face the investigation against him, Belciña was still relieved to hear of the transfer, said Dalawampu.

“He was already preparing himself, spiritually, kay matod pa niya, naa gud kuno siyay dakong problemang atubangon (According to him, he is up against a big problem),” she told reporters yesterday.

Dalawampu filed before Arellano a motion for inhibition against Danao City Prosecutor Jose Dionisio Kyamko last April 3.

Panel

Arellano also formed yesterday a panel of prosecutors to handle the complaint. It is composed of Assistant Cebu City Prosecutors Fernando Gubalane, Lineth Lapinid and Mario Montenegro.

Gubalane heads the panel and will sign his findings as the “Acting City Prosecutor of Danao City.”

Dalawampu was disappointed over Kyamko’s denial of her motion to postpone the clarificatory hearing scheduled for tomorrow. With three hearings already scheduled at the Cebu City Regional Trial Courts (RTCs), Dalawampu requested the rescheduling of the hearing to the next working day, which is April 10.
