Regarding License or copyright, make sure na your idea is original
If imng idea original, then file patent sa imng software or just even the algorithm, but if not, make sure na dli ka makaligis or compete with companies that owns the idea or the patent to your software. You can patent a trademark or product name lang.
But you cannot apply for copyright sa things na dli imng original idea, example; information system such as HRIS, payrol, etc. overused na kaayu ni.
naa ba tay habol if naay mo copya or edit our program... i think naa man gud software na mo decode from exe to sourcecode...
Practically wla, and ayaw kabalaka if naay mo copya or mo edit sa imo program, dli lang ikaw ang nagproblema ani, almost all sotware houses including Top guys like Adobe or Microsoft.
Piracy is always a problem and dli ni nmo problemahon unless you did invent the next breakthrough software, else people dont care, plain and simple!
If imo product is consumer based, meaning wlay specific client then you should provide a licensing agreement along with your software na mo emphasize na "copying" is wrong, which is mao man jd ang gibuhat sa tanang commercial software (ex is EULA from Microsoft products).
But if imo software para lang sa particular client, then you should include sa inyung contract na bawal i copy ang software or naay ray LIMITED number of licenses na pwedi nila magamit.
Lastly, sabta kung HOW SOFTWARE licenses works para dli ka matechnical, basin nya mo pataka ka ug gamit sa mga "FREE AND OPEN SOURCE" things available, understand the following terms; copyright, copyleft; GNU -GPL, LGPL, shareware, freeware.
Good luck!
