try catfishes (corydoras) species like bronze, albino bronze, peppered, panda(expensive) and sterbai (very expensive) are very timid. Avoid sharp gravel as they are likely to injure their barbels.
ALso, kuhli loaches (pangio). (I bought a handful of these last week, very unique fishes) you just wont see them much when lights are bright as they are active at dusk and dawn in nature. But If your setup makes them feel comfy, they're out all day long foraging for food.
The two mentioned above are bottom dwellers, so they eat food that fall to the bottom and dont compete with the guppies.
Just remember to feed them though, they might starve.
