these Osmenas may be the last generation, but they can never be called new generation. mas motuo pko kung c John-John (son of Sonny O) new generation. kung hilig unta tog politika ang anak ni Tomas nga c Miguel, new generation pud na unta nga politician. pero saunz mas hilig man cguro sa pamusil ug himo ug death threats...hehe <sarcasm>

her name sounds like thunder, sure shes known better... after all the scandals in cebu under her admin... majority of the cebuano's wont vote for her again...

well, saying Gwen having no more charisma is not accurate. she is still loved by her constituents in the province gali lng na polarized ang Cebu City people tungod sa Tomas-Gwen squabbles.

we are not even sure if people won't (or will) vote for her again. it is just too early to tell.

I could say that her accomplishments go beyond what could be seen by the naked eye or those that could be counted in numbers. Statistics, such as those she presented in her latest state-of-the-province address, may not even be enough to portray her achievements as governor.

Her accomplishments include things that could not be seen, yet people are feeling. The changing of attitudes of government employees, the values imbibed even among local officials, children appreciating local culture, the sense of belongingness as people.

Even people outside Cebu have noticed. They made her head of the Regional Development Council, the Regional Peace and Order Council, and chairman of the Visayas RDCom, which comprises RDC 6, RDC 7 and RDC 8. Gov. Garcia is also the Deputy Secretary General for Visayas of the League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP), Chairman of the Board of the Mactan Cebu Bridge Management Board (MCBMB), and Member of the Board of the Mactan Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA).

as for Ace Durano, yes, surely he walks the talk alright. He's a good prospect for new governor. But the idea of him running for governor is just a rumor. It even came out from his own mouth...besides, Ace is more a Garcia ally than any Osmena to speak of. how sure he will bite the bone Tomas has thrown?

so aside from Gwen running again, who else is new?

SOPA- whats with it telling the people what she accomplished?? shallow projects that even an ordinary politician can do
i dont mind if she is given another role in another organization...
i would even criticize her for that, why? shes supposed to work only as governor in cebu nothing else... if she has another position would she be able to to do her work as governor when she will be pre occupied by other responsibilities?? thats y usahay wala syay time para sa mga butang nga para dyud unta sa mga taw.. kay tua sya sa laing butang.... the position is there but the elected official is no where to find...
rumor it might be that ace wil run, but this simply means nga napul.an na ang cebu sa sama ni gwen nga baga ug nawng nga magcge advertize sa iya kaugalingon... trapos do this....and she is one of them...

yung membership sa various councils is part of the duties of being a governor. all governors are members of League of Provinces of the Philippines.

Ako taga Cebu Province ko, And di jud ko ganahan ni GWEN. Sya mao rason nganu di mu asenso ang probinsya. Daghan kaau projects na overpriced. Daghan kaau mga kurakot. Sayang lang among gibuhis niya.
